What has happened?
Mikey left, and Steve has found interest in other things besides actually making guitar music.

Nothing particularly exciting.
He was on to promote the Grammy event he's hosting with Sharon Osbourne.
Steve's own music was not discussed.....

If I'm stranded on an island, improving my guitar chops is not exactly very high on my list of priorities....

Typically you can blend the magnetic and piezo output......

It was a standard JEM, but with the piezo trem added. The trem, however, was blocked in case of a string breaking. It was specifically put together for the Grammy performance, and was auctioned off for charity...

That goes for most people.....

I personally tend to just focus on one thing:
Is it Major or Minor?
Outside of that, I'm not locked into specific notes. I'll use basic Major/Minor, and freely sprinkle other notes in there, as I see fit.
