It all depends on what sort of tone you want. I have a Marshall TSl and a crate blue voodoo for my main rig, they are both excellent amps!. I can't stand mesa boogie amps, all the dynamics are in the lower registers. they are more or less completely flat and lifeless in the toppier parts of the soun...

I know what you mean. RG, the guy who designs visual sound stuff (circuit wise) is a member of DIY pedal community. He probably tried most of mods for both ts808 and ds-1 and I'm sure that ones he included are the best. Also, I appreciate the fact they are not huge company a'la fender/ibanez. Hones...

I don't think there is actually any such thing as a "perfect amp", but I agree about the seventy 80's. They just re-issued them because they had lead or something in the construction and it has been banned for environmental reasons. I use them in all my stuff. they sound fat and warm and they cost n...

I remember trying this years ago and thinking it sounded really warm and great, but could have done with just a touch more gain. My tastes have mellowed over the years so this might well be a good buy for me now. I seem to remember it being similar in sound to the ibanez tube king, but I could be wr...

Help needed, anyone know out about the new VOX LE?

tone lab? Here is a spec comparison chart that I painstakingly compiled lol http://img246.imageshack.us/img246/8764/sevleww5.png As you can see, it looks like they have increased the bit depth from 20 bit to 24 bit, I am wondering if this will affect both effects and the preamps, or is this relevant...

Re: What is your reason???

Heey folks! I was wondering why you peeps picked up the guitar. I started playing because I saw Brian May playing Last Horizon in Rotterdam (Holland) and I thought; I want to do that to. The best part is, I still can't play Last Horizon... I can do some Satch things and some other Queen songs! But ...

Lol, but yeah she's really, really good. I think she overuses the whammy bar for vibrato but that's just my taste, I guess. The sweeps and licks are very smooth and confidently played and she's got nice vibrato too. Very nice playing. I think she's the best I've heard since maybe Jennifer Batten. Y...

I have to be honest, I think it has more to changing tastes with the player (namely VAI) and the production sound of the age. Production has changed much in the last 20 years. VAI's sound is much thicker and has a lot warmer mid. He plays differently now to to a degree, it is a natural progression i...

Yeah he did, but on the other hand, the (One of the) live version of FTLOG is out of tune the entire way through. I hope you will admiti that FTLOG is not out of tune like this VH piece  Maybe not, but if you're out of tune by even as much as the FTLOG from the astoria, I'm not sitting there ...
