How about neither? Instead of creating an album to one that's "similar" to a previous one, how about we just let him craft one that's wholly original, unique, and different than ones from previous records. Whatever he puts out will rock, whether it is an ALS on Steriods or another Real Illusions. Bu...

VAI ROBBED OF A GRAMMY AGAIN

Well, we all know the idiots who vote for the Grammys don't truly vote for the best songs, anyways.

Oh well.

He deserved it.

"Live in London" now on iTunes!

I was looking at Steve's section of iTunes and I saw that "Live in London" (Or at least most of it) is now availible! The 11 minute version of "The Attitude Song" is probably the only 10+ minute song you can buy off of iTunes without having to buy the whole album. I'm very disappointed with the abse...

This is probably my new favorite pedal, even though the MXR Eddie Van Halen Phaser is probably my favorite still. (Incidentally, the latter pedal is in Steve's rig.) The volume pedal is excellent. On some reviews at http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/product/reviews/base_pid=150743/rpp=10/ , people...

I've got to say, though, "Malignant Narcissism" is a great track. Not as good as "The Attitude Song," but hey, it's not a bad track either.

I'd say the main riff to "Whispering a Prayer." After all, in the linear notes to AIAUW, he says, "I don't think I can be more intimate with a guitar than this performance."

Radha Soami isn't a religion, but a spiritual path. What's the difference between a religion and a spiritual path? There's a saying that goes something like, "There are many paths that lead to God." This refers to the many religions of the world. I would consider a religion a spiritual path because...

Here's my breakdown of Steve's albums: 1. "Flex-Able" Not too huge on this one; really it's of experimental nature to me, save for "The Attitude Song." 2. "Passion and Warfare" Out of all of the 80's guitar shred albums, this dominates. With tracks like "Liberty," "The Animal," "Answers," "For the L...

A unique , imaginative interpretation, FireComa. Have you been smoking cobwebs again? I find 'The Road to Mount Calvary' extremely disturbing in that I believe it refers to the ascent of Golgotha by Jesus on his way to execution. The metallic, almost industrial, clangs reflecting the gruesom...

"The Road to Mt. Calvary"

Hey, I was just wondering if you all on the Vai forum could take the time to read this story I wrote. It's based off of the moody, dark instrumental "The Road to Mt. Calvary" from "Sex and Religion." Thoughts/comments appreciated. And Steve, if you can read/comment this, it would make my year. I don...

Dude, this thread is going to be locked.

This has been said countless times: Yes, there will be a RI tour DVD. However, the Sound Theories Minneapolis DVD will come before that. The RI tour DVD is still a ways away.

But it is coming.
