Man my guitar isent shitty and i know he might be more experinced but he must do somthing to the strings

the only thing is its starts tripping out when the battries get low but besides that its soo great for somtihng for home

first find what key your chords are in then play a scale in the same key, should sound fine

Maybe he still uses that because its his thing to put the tape there and its like a little thing he does. if he found it as critical as you im shure he would have changed it.
