IF the mirrored JEM is coming out at all in 2004, it'll be introduced in JANUARY at the NAMM show.

For Satch, I thinking it will be a 7-string. Look at the new models he had on the tour, and think more along those lines. Also, take into consideration the overall decline of 7-string sales. I agree with everyone else about the Paul Gilbert model....maple neck and fixed bridge. A no-brainer. The PG...

Since the JEM7DBK is being disco'd to the North American market, it would stand to reason that the new Vai sig. model would most likely be a replacement JEM to cover the price range between the 555 and the JEM7VWH/VBSL :)

After a MASSIVE exodus of Ibanez guitars, my collection has changed almost completely. I went from about 20 Ibanez' down to 6 (and will probably be down to 3 or 4 soon!). Here's a semi-current picture, but a few new additions are missing: http://members.aol.com/vaijem777/wall2.jpg Currently, I've go...

It's the prototype for the near-mythical "Ultra JEM". :) I believe that it was originally going to be a VERY limited-edition production model with an ultra pricetag to match, but the concept died due to either not being cost-effective, or because too much info was "leaked" about it. We'll probably n...

The altitude and dryness of Denver will do that. In the past when I've traveled with guitars to more humid climates, I've had the same issue. Just a fact of life :)

I had a killer all-Koa Strat that I'd put together from Warmoth parts. Definitely one of my favorite Strat-type guitars that I've had. The body was a 2-piece flamed Koa Strat body that was absolutely gorgeous. It was cleared. The neck was oiled flamed Koa with an ebony board and abalone dot inlays. ...

My JSY2K "Crystal Planet" sounds incredible! It's one of my favorite guitars tonally, and feel-wise. The weight is certainly more than a standard RG or JS, but it actually only weighs about 8oz. more than my Les Paul Custom. :)

Nope. Removing the neck won't hurt the guitar at all, as long as you have the tremolo properly blocked. Borrow a couple of 2 liter bottle caps out of the fridge and put them under the back end of the trem. Then remove the neck. :) That way, when you re-fasten the neck, there won't be as much "shock"...

Nevermind. I was able to open the photo. It IS an S7420FMTT. Period. No doubt about it unless somebody stripped down an S540-7, put a maple veneer on it and refinished it. I suppose the burgundy-lined UV1000C is the original case too? ;) Just cut and paste the below link into a new browser: http://c...

The ONLY thing that'll prove either theory is to A) provide us with GOOD pictures. Especially of the NECK POCKET after you remove the neck. There you should find a model number stamped. The fact is, it IS a 1999 neck, period. At the very least, the guitar has had a neck swap and is not original. But...

The picture isn't coming up, but it almost sounds like an S7420FMTT, if it does have a trans-blue top. The S540-7 was out in '91, but the S7420FMTT is a pretty recent model. It was just discontinued a year or so ago- Musician's Friend, etc. had major blowouts on them of around $600-700. The List pri...

I've never thought of it that way Drew! Of course, I've also never even considered buying a Korean-made anything. ;)

Good argument though!

i wouldnt put that much in a non custom guitar... "That much" meaning...$1500+? Value is in the eye of the beholder/owner. I paid $1250 for my last JEM90HAM, and it was dead mint. Of course, when I sold it 6 months later, I got slightly more than that. ;) Great deals are out there if you're willing...
