I fail to see how the original post constitutes such a response from Mikey. Clearly the creator of the post as a member of the Steve Vai forums is entitled to state his opinion (even if it is highly unoriginal). I see the only problem that this post could possibly create is a few extra kilobytes of ...

Steve Vai is a musician that has impacted other musicians through his originality and facility on the electric guitar. Since Beethoven is also a musician that impacted (immeasurably more then Mr vai) comparisons are easily drawn. What is wrong with making a darn comparison with something else. We ex...

Hmm. Has anyone actually tried to tounge the guitar like steve with his Ibanez jem and fernandez sustainer? I think its possible with just that and no wammy bar or pedal bar. My theory. IF you get a slide you can actually play notes beyond the fret board very simply. I dont see why steve vai cant ge...

I had a lady say to me that Carlos santana was the greatest guitarist of all time. After showing her the DVD of astoria she still thought santana was better and that steve vai was ripping of prince with his clothes and facials. honestly people lets just accept you get some deluded iddiots who believ...

Steve's sweeps always follow a rather simmilar pattern. He isnt really known for going outside his own box sweep wise on a jam because he will probibly screw up. If you want a tab for those sweeps look at tabs for Tender Surrender, The Audience is listening. You will find steves most common sweeps i...

my friend hit a whopping 2 notes a second. if you dont practice speed you actually lose it and your playing becomes sloppy. Since i doubt steve spends all his time shredding his speed has increased and decreased over his carear. We can all agree that he has played some extraodinary fast licks. tende...

Actually i have a friend who wants me to get into dream theater. So i have listened to quite a bit (reluctantly) I think dream theater as a whole is a very skilled band but they are just far to Computer "power tab" for me. I would like to think i have a wide range of gutiarists and musicians that I ...
