ALIEN GUITAR SECRETS is an unprecedented, masterclass opportunity offered by Steve Vai to all music students and guitar enthusiasts. After testing the masterclass in various international territories, we are now bringing ALIEN GUITAR SECRETS to the United States. This 3+ hour unique package gives the student a once in a lifetime opportunity to hear Steve discuss music theory, guitar techniques, the music business, and most importantly, techniques on how to discover and unlock your personal musical identity. It also includes a question and answer session, and a few attendees will be chosen to jam with Steve in this intimate environment.

Availability is VERY limited for each masterclass - so please be aware that these classes will sell quickly.

Here are some important things you should know about the ALIEN GUITAR SECRETS Masterclass - please read carefully:

You must arrive at the venue early – at least 60 minutes prior to the start of the masterclass.

You should eat something before you arrive at the venue. The masterclass will last over 3 hours and there will not be time to eat during the break. Some fans bring energy bars and bottled water along. This is highly recommended.


  • NO photo cameras or cell phones will be allowed in the venue during the masterclass.
  • NO video cameras
  • NO recording devices
  • All sales are final. No cancellations. No refunds.
  • Tickets are NOT transferrable
  • Persons who appear drunk or intoxicated will be denied entry.
  • Security staff on site will check all persons entering.
  • ALIEN GUITAR SECRETS and Steve Vai assume no liability for musical instruments or personal articles brought into the venue or parking areas and is not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged personal items. Personal articles will be the sole responsibility of attendee.
  • You may be filmed while taking part in the masterclass. This footage may or may not be used in future release(s). By taking part in ALIEN GUITAR SECRETS, you understand this and grant us permission to use your likeness in said releases.
  • We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone.


  • NO babes in arms
  • Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, and the parent must also buy a masterclass ticket. Steve Vai and ALIEN GUITAR SECRETS assume no liability or responsibility for the behavior or actions of attendees, including those under 18 years of age.


ALL SALES ARE FINAL: There are no cancellations, refunds, or exchanges.

EVENT POSTPONMENT: If an event is rescheduled, your tickets will be good for the rescheduled class. If an event is completely canceled, please see below.

EVENT CANCELLATION: If an event is completely cancelled, a refund will be issued to purchaser in the amount of the ticket price less a 3% credit card processing fee.

PACKAGES/TICKETS ARE NON-TRANSFERABLE: Packages/tickets may not be resold whole or in part for any reason. We reserve the right to cancel packages/tickets of anyone who is found to be selling their package/ticket in whole or part - especially on Ebay.


Will Steve play guitar during the masterclass?
Steve will play, jam and demonstrate during the class, but please note that this is not a concert.

Do I need to arrive early?
Yes. You will need to arrive at the venue 60 minutes prior to the start of the class. Please be on time.

What do I need to bring with me in order to gain entry?
You will need to bring valid photo ID, your ticket and/or printout of your purchase confirmation email if you bought your tickets on line and are picking up at the box office. You may also want to bring paper and pen to take notes.

How will the jam with Steve work?
Upon entering the masterclass, participants will be issued a number. Those that would like to be considered to jam with Steve will be told to put their number in a box. Steve will draw numbers at random for people to come up and jam.

Can I bring my guitar for the jam?
You may bring your guitar, but due to space limitations in the venue, we will ask that all guitar cases be stacked in the back of the room during the masterclass. Please make sure your guitar case is labeled accordingly with your name. ALIEN GUITAR SECRETS and Steve Vai assume no liability for guitars and is not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged instruments.

Can I resell my masterclass ticket?
No. The original purchaser must show identification. Substitutions will not be allowed into the venue.

How do I cancel if I can't attend?
We don’t accept cancellations.

If I give (sell) my ticket to someone else, how does Will-call/ticket window pick-up work?
Packages/tickets are non-transferable. You may not give or sell the ticket to someone else.

How do I purchase ALIEN GUITAR SECRETS as a gift for someone?
When you enter your billing info there will be a field to enter a will call name. Enter the gift recipient’s name there.

Is flash photography OK?
No cameras will be allowed to enter the venue while the masterclass is taking place. Video cameras will not be allowed at any time. People who fail to follow this policy will have their cameras confiscated. ALIEN GUITAR SECRETS is not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged cameras.

Can Steve autograph my guitar, CD etc.?
Steve is happy to autograph CDs, vinyl, books and guitars, however you are responsible for the items you bring to the venue. We are not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged items. You should only bring a couple of items AT MOST.

Can I give Steve a copy of my demo CD?
No. While Steve is very supporting of upcoming artists, he cannot accept your demo CDs due to legal liability. Keep them at home.

Can I give Steve a gift?
While Steve is honored and flattered, he is unable to accept gifts from masterclass participants or fans. Your presence and participation in the class is a gift itself. Please do not bring anything to give to Steve. 2008
