First Evo experience in France

#1 Post by Xtof63 » Sat Aug 03, 2013 10:06 am

Hi everybody,

I'm a french guitarist who lives in Clermont-Ferrand-France. Steve will come on 09/09/13 and I 'll go to the Evo experience :guitar

I have some questions about the program and the number of limited places.

- Can I take my guitar to have technical questions with Steve (not interesting by a signature on her) ?
- Is Steve talking a little bit of french ?
- How long is the Evo Experience ?
- Can I take a listen to Steve to what I'm working on?

Sorry for the spelling mistakes :(

Of course you can take a guitar with you, I have done so at previous EVO experiences.

Although they arent allowed in the concert, so you will need to put it somewhere after EVO, but before the concert, I put mine in my car boot, outside. Or maybe just take photos of what you wish to ask him ?

Regarding Steve speaking french, he does EVOs all over the world, and always arranges a translator, from what I have seen in other reviews.

The EVO usually starts around 3, and ends around 6, when he needs to get ready for the concert.

I don't think he will have time to listen to any of your music , however. He has to offer questions and answers to everyone, so cannot "break off" to listen to headphones, etc. Then he signs everyone's things, poses for photos etc, so I don't think he will have time.

Thanks for the answers Keith !

Just some questions again :

- how many people will participate at the Evo ?
- when you did the Evo, did you play with Steve or have you seen some guitarists doing the jam with him ?

I'm so excited and hope to share a musical moment with Steve around a Zappa's stuff

The maximum for each EVO is 30 people, I think.

No, you don't play guitar with Steve, and no other guitarist does.

You get to ask steve questions, listen to others ask, then after an hour or so, he queues everyone up for signing things, a photo each with him etc.

Then you get to watch him and the band soundcheck, and thats it.

Yeah, that's the idea behind the experience. They either bring Evo or sometimes another of Steve's guitars out. Been to a couple of Evo's and on one of those there was no Evo because there was no time for it.
But that only happens once in awhile.

Hello Xtof

I'm french too (sorry i'm badly in english) and i have made evo experience at clermont in 2005. I know several fans who made evo in 2010, 2012, etc...
Perhaps i'll do the evo in clermont on september

"Can I take my guitar to have technical questions with Steve" : yes of course, but other people have questions too...
"Is Steve talking a little bit of french ?" : no, but if there is no translator, steve speak slowly
"How long is the Evo Experience ?" : afternoon
"Can I take a listen to Steve to what I'm working on?" : i think no

You can contact me on MP : french is more easier for me !!!
