Message board software (what happened??)
oh, would that comment be the one with the little tab that says "tommyd48 is on your ignore list, click to see" tab? I seem to not even see those sometimes, it's such a small tab... It's great though, now I actually have the choice to see what he has to say- and when he posts a reply to this ill decide not to look at it. It's fantastic really. It's funny, I actually looked at the competition thread he posted an thought maybe he had something real to say... But surprise surprise, all he did was tell us that we couldn't top him- *cough* (fail) *cough* and I'm not about to poison this thread with anything else on the subject of our dear friend, anything else he posts I probably will chose not to see- soneone pm me if he says something worth reading.
And thanks Jenn, for telling me about the ignore function- you rock!!!

Edit- I suggest everyone use the "foe" and ignore function that comes on this board. I mean come on, how much better can it get???GYiakoumi wrote:Backtrack the thread until you reach the source, you won't be surprised.

Well, you were on the edge of quitting, it seemed, and I didn't want to see you go! Especially over one user, when the "ignore" feature is such an easy solution. It's something I've seen on several message boards, and it can be so handy when you just don't wanna' deal with certain people (or trolls).
I'm actually kind of surprised that it's not a function on every message board! I'm glad it was here. Coz if you had gone, I'd have missed you, big time. Coz you rock, Kyle!

But the scroll bar is a big downer, I agree, so I'm working on a better alternative, so shortly this nuisance will be gone.

Ok, I found & tested a good working solution for this, that I'll be setting up in the next few days.
Scrollbar, be gone!
Keep the thoughts coming.

i think it would be cool to have a program that's free to vai.com users that tracks your entire guitar "career" as a whole, almost like a really detailed and well set up and organized timeline. Any milestones could be tagged, and it could be a sort of "timeline blog" where everything is in order and updates just added to the timeline, almost like Facebook, but a real actual timeline. IE: mine would have my beginning love for the music of the guitar, then discovering the Trans Siberian orchestra, finding Steve Vai's music, buying my first RG, finally discovering what that green stuff on Vai's pickup
(just because I know Jeries thinks the most important aspect of playing is the tape on the pickup
), and other things like my first vai concert- those would be big things, smaller things could be added almost like a calendar, an entry per day perhaps, but customized for the guitar player with more guitarist friendly features
Edit: and thanks Jenn, glad to know SOMEONE likes me on this board

Ok, scrollbar should be gone now. Made the forums a bit wider as well.
Please note, the correct address for the forums is:
http://www.vai.com/forum/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
If you still have http://www.vai.com/messageboard" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; in your bookmarks, please adjust
Next up is I'm going to see if I can auto-resize images, so Kyle's uploads don't screw up the boards anymore
