Green Meanie on PAW
That is logically correct, but I remember Steve saying in an interview back in '99 that his Green Meanie was very "midrangey", and if I listen to "Eat'em and Smile" I agree with that statement.pagliai wrote:wow what a question........wow
i give you a reply that is not correct but analitic....in all of the brighter parts 'cause green manie 's got a lot of air
maybe 'cause of the maple fretboard?who knows

you don´t mean you can hear it´s a floyd rose by the flutter, do you?loran333 wrote:the flutter in the end of the song is a very floyd rose one.
Just to speak in general, it´s impossible to figure out what guitar was used by ear. There´s much more in a studio but just guitars and amps that will blow every theory

edge , lopro edge , edgepro , floyd rose got a distinctive flutter.
the end of blue pownder has a powerful wavering that don't decay immediatly.
To my expérience and to my ears it's a floyd rose , only some edge occasionaly have this strong long wavering.

sorry if I say it just straight, but I don´t believe anybody could differ a free floating bridge like FR or all the edges by the fluttering noise. At least if you don´t have all of them in front of you comparing one by one. And still, you only hear a very slight diffrence (if any) that you won´t be able to get in order in your mind that you could use it do "detect" a trem in your future life.
And I don´t say that just because I can´t.

It might be inpossible for steve to usit on PAW since the guitar was severly damaged at a show :

"... my old green monster, which I used out on the road last year until it died. I was pulling on the whammy bar and ripped the bar right out of the guitar [laughs]; it was actually ripped out before the show as Madison Square Garden. I was dying. (GW - 5/88)
Probably the vibrato block anckors broke from the body meaning the body is dead. The only way to get it repared is to replace de wood at this place witch is crutial to the tone of the guitar, it cannot be the same after.
On Skycraper, most of the tracks were don with the Tom Anderson "VAI". Since the Grean meanie was the favorite on EEAS, it is resonable to assume is was realy died at the time PAW was recorded. Anyway, at the moment Steve ad already a bunch of JEM's for the Skyscraper Era and the Brand new Universes.
Perharps Mickey knows is The Gream meany has been repaired...
