I have an RG model Ibanez guitar and I just wanted to see if anyone knows how these guitars react to humidity changes. I live in Vegas but I'm moving to a very humid place near the coast, does anyone know how I can prevent my guitar from bending or anything like that?
Hey there Miguel, welcome to the forum buddy
Ok, 1st you should be able to buy a dehumidifier for the room in which the guitar will be kept/played or else open a window during the warmest hours of the day 2 to let the air circulate in the room
I'm not sure how it will react as in playability, but I know that the wood will swell ever so slightly, but this can react differently with different woods and different guitars
I hope this helps you Miguel and I look forward to posting with you and chatting in the chat room
Take care and peace always buddy

I don't think the humidity will have a noticable effect on the guitar. Just do what Willie said and keep the room well circulated and you shouldn't have a problem.

Your action might go up or down if you have an unfinished neck. I've noticed that with mine. Sometimes you just have to play some blues for a while unless you want to tweek with your guitar.
Your humidity deal is indeed a concern. That quick a change I mean. You can get humidifiers that maintain the proper level and it fits in your case. So there is no reason to do a whole room. once the guitar acclimates to the new climate you should be kewl. These devices are mainly for violins and the such. but hey, If you love your axe, you can get one.
