EVH 5150 III 1x12 Combo thoughts....

#1 Post by Bryceybhoy » Wed Mar 25, 2015 1:42 am

Anyone got this amp? I'm having a bit of a rethink on my gear. I'm currently selling a few of my guitars and I may consider binning my Legacy head and ADA-MP1. I've got a rack set-up and, to be honest, I can't be bother fiddling with it anymore. I quite like the idea of a simple combo, less room, bit of bite to it. I don't gig.

Would love to hear if anyone has an opinion of this amp. I will come back in August to see the replies, as I know the forum has died lately (damn you, social media!).

for the price i think a peavey 6505+ 112 would be a better value

in the usa you're talking lets say $250-300 vs $1000

you're just putting the extra cash in eddie's pocket

I've got an original 5150 and 4X12 cab, Bryceybhoy, and its the best amp I've ever heard. I once played around with a combo version and that was amazing too, although it didn't move as much air...perfect for the bedroom player. Its impossible to get a duff sound out of it.
