#1 Post by paulh123 » Tue Sep 23, 2014 7:08 am

so fractal are releasing the fx8 next month, basically its the fx section of the afx2 designed to use 4cm with amps (its similar to the tc g system).
i plan on getting one when they are released anyone else getting one?
i wonder if steve will use one as its effectively what he is using now but in a smaller package and combined footswitch/controller.

I'm still torn, jackson ampworks Britain 30 with the fx8 or an axe 2 xl?! Once I've decided I will pick it up for my current rig if I go jackson route.

I've owned the

Standard/Ultra/II Mark 1 and II Mark II

I'm going to be ordering an XL this week

I perfer TC when it comes to effects- and prefer the cabs/preamps of the axefx

so- I'm not going to get an FX8 because I'd much rather you use the Axe for preamps- I've been drawn more to Axe Fx amps than my real ones- and have gravitated toward new sounds (Friedman)

My Mesa's also don't like the 4 cable method- the dry signal bleeds
the only way it worked well (w/gsystem) was with the triaxis- a seperate preamp/amp

but i stand behind and recommend anything fractal does

Yeah, I am a little worried about 4 cable method with it. But fractal is great. I used the Ultra live for a long time before stupidly selling it and going back to Vox. I used the extra $$$ for some medical bills but regret selling the Ultra.

The FX8 will have a small run in October and full production in November according to Cliff in the fractal forums.

Also makng an expression pedal and "6 other products in active development" exciting times for sure!

The difference between the Ultra and the II is NIGHT AND DAY

I upgraded thinking 'ok well i have to put a lot of time into this might as well get the latest unit' and the headphone jack was nice

going from the ultra to the ii

is like going from a crate to a mesaboogie

I don't think you gave it the effort it deserves
to really know what the axe ii can do- it hasn't even been released that long- let me put it that way.

it can do anything.

i picked up a gmajor 2 to use with it because i like studio quality effects rather than stomp box type effects

but i love the axefx
