bass guitars

#1 Post by axeman777 » Mon Sep 17, 2007 8:08 pm

Hey guys. I don't know if this is the proper place to post a question about this, so let me know if it isn't. I have a bass I use for recording. Lately I have been tuning low (full step down) I changed my guitar's string gauge to 10's, I want to tune my bass down as well. What is the recommended gauge for the bass to tune down a full step? (its an Ibanez soundgear 4 string) Thanks in advance for any info.

I've never had trouble tuning down just to D on my bass. You should be fine with the current strings you're using unless you're getting a lot of fret buzz or something.

shade is right, you must change the gauge only if the strings give you some problems,if not ......play ,don't worry, and best of luck for your recordings
