New Dimarzio Steve Vai Cable

#1 Post by beggz » Fri Jul 13, 2007 9:46 am

Surely this can't be the correct price for a cable $100?

cable

#5 Post by Surfingalien » Fri Jul 13, 2007 3:56 pm

I think the the JEM, bad horsie, univers, little alligator, EVO's and breed pickups were great ideas.

But this just doesn't make sense to me.
I mean; 100 euro for a cable...
Maybe it has some nois reduction mabey it slightly improves your sound but it's just not worth it.

I think Steve doesn't use this cable when preforming ( or maybe he does).
Cause he hass quite a huge pedalboard. And if one of that cable isn't the signature cable doesn't it has any use at all.

5 pedals= 6 cables = more than 600 euro

Correct me if i'm wrong

Ditto.
To me, just hungry marketing.

Simple solution:
Buy the regular cable.

I have Vovox cables between my guitar and amp and in the effects loop of the amp (George L`s between my pedals) and you won`t believe the improvement they make to your sound! You get more everything: highs, bass, definition, gain, YOUR TONE!!!

I`ve never been fan of signature gear but I understand the reasons why some people get it and that`s just fine by me. What ever makes you play better!

the cables are one of the most important things in the gear they are always forget but they are so so important just like the electric issue like furman or so in a rack or the rack case or these type of things,it is a bad thing for example put 12500 pedals in series without true bypass or so .Many times the guitarists ve got one billion of gears and they don't understand the cablin stage is important ,don't do like them.
Anyway i don't know how the vai cables play but i know dimarzio cables are so so good just like monsters or the cables you talked about ,it is only a personal taste issue, anyway RAI is right if you don't need the quality.....normal cables.
The rules is a good hands with a good guitar with a good cable with a good amp with a good speaker cable with a good ...good...good... ;)

OK, cables DO make a difference, but let's get real! If you have 1-2 non-true bypass pedals your signal is already not the same. And the cable ain't gonna help you.

That's true, your signal is only as good as your cheapest cable.

I'm sure it's a perfectly good cable, but this isn't really about that. It's about worshipping ones hero by buying something he's put his name to. Simple as that. If you want to emulate your hero then go ahead. Personally, I like the plug with the Vai logo, but I'm unlikely to fork out £60 for just that.
