recently i've been noticing a faint buzz coming from my legacy, it's the 212 combo if it makes any difference. could it be that i need to replace the tubes in the amp? I bought it used so i have no idea how long it has been played on the same tubes. i have owned it about a year and this problem has been going on for around 2 months now off and on. I don't live by a large city, so i would really hate to have to drive all the way out to one just to have somebody look at it, but i'm worried that i could be damaging my amp somehow. What do you think could be wrong?
Even if you don't think it's a tube problem, how often should the tubes be changed?
thanks in advance
legacy problem
It's possible that tubes are the problem. You'll need to change them eventually so get new ones and try. It's easier than doing anything else. It depends n how much you use it but preamp tubes should be swapped each 2-3 years, and power tubes each 1-2 year. If you live in Europe you can get them from http://www.banzaieffects.com and in USA there are many stores, like http://www.tubedepot.com
