The official 'Post Your Gear' thread

#1 Post by lydian7 » Thu Feb 09, 2006 3:25 am

Thought it might be a good idea to share our guitar gear pics so that everyone can drool and marval at your beloved equipment. ;)

My main basic guitar rig consists of an Ibanez prestige w/piezo system, customised with two dimarzio pickups (Fred in neck position, and Evo in bridge), a digitech whammy pedal, a boss dd-3 delay pedal, and my secret weapon - a Mesa Boogie Mark IV combo amp (finished with brown leather casing and wicker front). :D

...the Boogie Mark IV is absolutely awesome and can produce pretty much any tone you wish to use (with a bit of tweaking). You can get an amazingly heavy rhythm tone, and a smooth, crystal clear type Vai lead tone. If anyone would like settings for the Mark IV, just PM me and I'll sort you out. ;)

THE guitar. My #1, a 1992 Ibanez RG550 with Dimarzio PAF Pro, HS-2, and PAF pro.

Love it. Its got some stickers on it now, so its not so plain looking.

Then the Carvin X100B halfstack:

and the 1985 Laney AOR Pro Tube Lead on my Peavey XXX slant cab.

Love the finish on your les paul brother al, I'm looking to get a gibson standard myself soon.

Tambokgt: How does the MTS combo compare to the Legacy?

This is my current live and studio gear:

Image

Furman PL Plus Series II Power Conditioner and Light Module.
TC Electronic G-Major Multieffects Processor.
Mesa/Boogie Rectifier Recording Preamp a.k.a. "Rec-Pre"

Image

Rack and Marshall 30th Anniversary 6101 (only output stage used)

Image

MXR Wylde Overdrive, Morley Bad Horsie, Digitech Whammy 4

Image

Guitars: Ibanez JEM7VSBL and RG Custom.

Note: The G-Major goes connected in the effects loop of the Rec-Pre.
The Rec-Pre goes connected to the Line In of the Marshall 6101 or
direct to the mixing console, depending the aplication.
Both units (G-Major and Rec-Pre) are controlled with the G-Minor
MIDI Foot controller.

Everybody amazes about how my rig can be so little and so powerful, the Rec-Pre has TONS of volume :!: also it mates perfect with the output stage of the Marshall 6101, it can sound HUGE, 100 Watts going through a 200 Watts speaker, enough volume to be present almost everywhere with a pretty small package.

This is my ultimate rig ever, the rack is a must have now, I can go from stages to studios just with that 4 space rack and sound very cool.

Regards.
