to the moderator: Sorry if they are beating you to death with this stuff!! But this is such good info! keep givin the great info!

im more interested in how steve pre or post eq's his guitar tracks, any frequencies he likes to cut or boost, pre or aftre the recording? im sure he doesnt have any favorite settings and just takes them from one song at a time........but i was just wondering if there is a general rule that he uses to eq'ing his guitars..........

Hey guys, i was wondering if Steve's API board, really change the sound that came from the MICs that much.
I mean, what's the basic difference ? EQ? Effects?

Hey, I PM Neil, and thats the answer he gave me.

Steve uses different eq settings depending on the soung and sound that he wants. That being said. He likes 12.5k 15k 80hz and 1.2k to add for an agressive sound, but that depends on what mic he's using. Those eq's might be great for a 57 and bad for something else. He'll cut if the amp is too sharp or too boomy or etc. Cutting is to clean up and adding is to enhance. Neil out
