Steve Vai's highly anticipated, new full-length solo album release: "The Story of Light" is available for pre-order on Vai.com starting today.

The 3 special packages feature some or all of these items: a physical CD, digital download of the album, a limited edition interview DVD, 7" vinyl single, custom 32 page booklet, plantable “The Story of Light” seeded postcards, Steve Vai guitar picks and more. The record will be released August 14, 2012.

Vai mentioned at a G3 meet and greet recently that he hoped this would be part of the trilogy - sure looks like it is!

I've ordered my platinum package... hopefully it does get held up in customs because of the seeds :|

I'm pretty sure the artwork was made by the same artist, Andrea Cobb. Love it immensely. :)

It does look like the second installment of the Real Illusions trilogy especially when one of the tracks is called 'John the Revelator'!

There are other options. :roll:

You also get the set of picks as well. It's an additional $25 but if you broke out the extra items and sold them individually on ebay I'm guessing you could get your money back. That tells me there is value there besides the jolt of ecstacy I get adding more vainyl to the collection. :wink:
