Tom Waits concert

Image
Hmmm, must have missed my foot.
Fire and I flew from L.A. To Phoenix to see Tom Waits perform. He is
not coming to LA on this tour. There is no other artist I would even
drive more than an hour to see, but for Tom... The moon isn't even too
far.

For myself and many others Tom's shows are special and this one was
exceptionally engaging.

This shot was taken before the show started and I was thinking about
all the people that put themselves through great inconviniences to
come to one of my shows. So sorry about that, and thanks.
I have to say though, it was no inconvinience for me to spend a few
days and take a flight to see Tom. Fire and I were very excited the
whole time.
It's nice when it works that way.

Peace
s

Imagine sitting next to Steve Vai at a concert? Cool!

(That sounds a bit gay, doesn't it?)

Speaking for myself, I would say:

Texas is such a big state that if I wanted to see ANYBODY it'd be a 6 hour drive...

and its a 6 hour drive that I make quite frequently... thus is the price one pays!!!

Ha! I wish I could have such a stringent requirement for traveling to see concerts. Unfortunately the comibination of concert junkie crossed with a proximity of Nebraska equals traveling many miles for live music. I consider myself EXTREMELY lucky that your tours (Fire Garden, UZ, and RI:R) have made stops here! I hope that trend continues. Unfortunately that hasn't satisfied my insatiable appetite for live Vai. I know C will scoff at this  but my Vaian excursions have included:

Minneapolis
Cleveland
KC
Denver
LA 4x

Each one full of a lifetime of great memories. Can't wait to add some more to the mix.

Hahaha - I like that, a reference to the 'keeps shooting himself in the foot all the time' comment by Aerosmith or whoever it was!

I think it's because most of Steve's diary pics include a shot of his foot...

Really, do they? I just assumed it was referring to the Aerosmith comment as that was being discussed on this forum quite recently. Or perhaps it's cleverly referring to both the same time!

Yeah, check out the diary pics...I don't know why he does it....probably because he has a goofy side and isn't afraid to show it...Not that there's anything wrong with that, of course.... I would doubt it has to do with Aerosmith for 2 reasons: 1. Steve was taking pics including his foot long before the Aerosmith discussions, and 2. Steve doesn't have a lot of time to cruise the forums IMHO

He usually includes his own foot in his pics. He was not talking about Aerosmith.
