Great show! Steve and band delivered :headbang A few suggestions for next tour: NO opening act, an evening with Steve Vai will be just fine. Start the show early so us "older folk" can get up for work the next day

Set list:

Building the Church
Tender Surrender
Gravity Storm
Weeping China Doll
John the Revelator
The Moon and I
The Animal
Whispering a
Audience is
(acoustic)
rescue me/sisters/T island

Building a Song
For the Love of God
(encore)
Tarus Bulba

Can I ask, how was the volume of the show?

I saw Steve on the "Real Illusions" tour and the show was painfully loud. I like it loud, like anyone else but this was too loud to enjoy the show. Earplugs take away too much from the experience so I've never liked them at shows.

I'm thinking of taking my son and this is a concern for me.

Yep, great show as always. As far as volume, I didn't think it was too loud but I'm in my 40's and likely have a bit of hearing loss. I was at the Real Illusions show and didn't think it too loud then. I took my son who is 10 who has asked me for years to take him to a Steve Vai show. He did wear earplugs. He isn't used to listening to music loud. He enjoyed it very much. You might try Hearos ear plugs as some of them are designed specifically for musicians. http://www.hearos.com/earplugs/music

well, I wasn't at this show, and I'm not sure if volume changes from venue to venue. At my show (a really really really small venue) the volume was absolutley perfect, and I was standing DIRECTLY in front of the hanging speakers on the right side... like, directly in front. The volume was fine. I wasn't too far away from the legacies either. It didn't hurt at all. For a little kid they might near plugs, but for anyone over 7 it should be fine.
