May the Love of family and friends warm your Heart, tonight and every night. I am ever thankful for all the friends I have here, and I cherish the kindness we've shared.
A very happy, healthy and safe Thanksgiving Day to all who celebrate, and a lovely Autumn Thursday to those who do not
And all of you elsewhere in the world, Love to all y'all as well

Happy creatures in the yard, LOL. All the Thanksgiving prep left some scrap and peels, so we put them out in the yard. We had some happy squirrels, birds and chipmunks clearing away celery leaves, cornbread crumbs and sweet potato skins. After the Sun started to go down, racoons snagged the rest, LOL!
So cute to see all the extra frenzy in the yard when extra goodies are discovered

Hope everyone had a great day yesterday! And of course, every day Image

There’s many ways to define success in life but one way is to say that success is leading a life free of stress. Free of the anxiety of wanting something and not having it. Success in life is discovering the peace, freedom and inner joy that is actually at the core of who we are, beyond ego and even beyond thought. It’s possible for a person to be completely happy and not have achieved any of the things that the world might consider successful.

Just brought the tree in, and that got me thinking about Holidays, Light, and Celebrations that fill this time of year...

Late Autumn/early Winter here in the U.S.
The nights have gotten long, the days are so much cooler... the Dark Half of the year is fully upon us. For many, this time of the year is depressing and stressful, cold and dark but with the demand to be happy and festive. So I just wanna give a thought...

Be it Christmas, Yule/Solstice, Kwanzaa, Chanukah, Festivus (for the rest of us... LOL) or whatever else I'm probably missing...
Have you noticed the emphases on Light? Family/Home? Warmth?
These are the things we need to focus on. Not the gifting and out-doing of the neighbors or trying to have 'the perfect day'.
The focus should be on the warmth and closeness of friends and family, be they physically near, or held close in the Heart. The ones we love and care about. Those smiles that make our day, the voice that gives us a lift when we hear it, the memories we treasure in a special soft place in our Hearts... Think of the love and the joy they bring.
The focus should be on the lights fighting back the darkness... candles or fireplace or electric decoration, they serve as a sort of 'surrogate' for the Sunlight we are missing, and a reminder that we always get through the darkness. The Sun always comes back to us. Take a moment to bask in that thought. Even in the night, we have the Moon, and the Stars. A candle to light the dark, merry decorations to brighten even the coldest, most dreary grey.

Whatever you celebrate or believe, remember that these Winter celebrations are meant to give us Hope. We have eachother, and the Sun will be back to light our days again.

Happy Holiday, whatever your day/s may be. I love you all and think of you when I need a smile. Take very good care of yourselves and give an extra warm hug to those you Love! Image
