If i was gonna play the last waltz on stage , what are the crazy things i shouldn't do onstage? Like umm..break a string?
I tried rattling my tremolo arm really hard and the B string just broke.

1. Don't rest your foot on the feedback speaker, unless its absolutely necessary because your guitar is so low it is being licked by the flames of Satan.
2. Don't karate kick. [Please, Yngwie, follow my advice. And learn to put something tangible into your solos.]
3. Don't run back, grinning, and back with the bassist during a regular lick. You'll just look stupid. Unless there's a good bass solo, in which you can all run in.
4. Don't do synchronized jumping. Busted do this. Busted suck.
5. Don't get lost under the stage.
6. Don't get trapped in your plastic pod.
7. Alright, the last two I was just kidding.
8. Don't swing your guitar around your head if the other guitarists are dangerously close.
9. Don't smash up your instrument at the end and then realise there's an encore to play.
10. Don't repeat the same physical trick over and over again.
11. Don't die.
12. Don't excrete.
13. Don't kick the bass drum.
14. Don't break wind that smells like someone bent over a feedback amp and shitted on the pedalboard.
15. Don't step in the shit on the pedalboard.
16. Don't WORRY.

if you hit a bum note, ignore it. if you have confidence and DONT TRY TO CORRECT YOUR MISTAKES the audience will be able to understand the musical idea and really wont even notice it.
If you're going to throw your big bad bass way up in the air on NATIONAL TV, at least make sure you have some eye-hand co-ordination. Getting knocked stone cold on stage and being rushed to the hospital does not flatter your rockstar image. Nirvana bass player....this concerns you.

One thing that I have learnd is toplay like you mean it with confidence never doubt yourself while your on stage you can be the great player without confidence and you will look like an average joe, but on the other hand you could be a nobody and play with confidence and youll appear to be a great. also if you hit a bad note hit it with confidence and let that bad note be heard i garentee it won't matter even the greats make mistake but we hear there bad notes and think they are geniuses and innovaters. Also be yor self if you don't like running around the stage throwing Yngwie kicks than don't but if you like throwing your guitar in to the air do it be who you are but rember your audience if you burn your guitar on stage in front of 60 year old ladies it would be a little to much.

what exactly happened to that guy on stage? Sorry I did not see the performance to be honest, im not much of a Nirvana fan. He was just throwing his bass up and he couldn't focus on catching it? lolsmj wrote:If you're going to throw your big bad bass way up in the air on NATIONAL TV, at least make sure you have some eye-hand co-ordination. lol pretty much. he threw it way up there, and the body of the bass hit him in the head and he spent the last bit of the song rolling around in pain, not even able to stand back up. what was great was the fact that kurt didn't even notice and kept singing and playing like it never happened.

whatever you do, don't say you'll fill in for a band who play in drop C and turn up with super slinky's (9's) on your guitar. and if you do happen to do the aforementioned, don't get so drunk you don't really notice when said guitar goes horribly out of tune.
i got away with it somehow, but others may not be so lucky!
