Perhaps it stems from a lack of exercising the motion of rocking a crybaby, but when I play the theme to this song (Audience is Listening), I find it to be nigh impossible to rock my foot fast enough. Does he have some sort of modification (such as a spring), is it an envelope filter, or is there something else that I'm missing? I feel like a one-legged man chasing a Ferrari when I try to play this.

Yes he uses a bad horsie which is spring loaded to rock back into position after he releases the pressure on the pedal

Of course, the Bad Horsie pedal didn't exist when the track was recorded......

on gcb 95 have a hole where you can put a kind of elastic to hold pedal back

a bad horsie may not have existed but a Dunlop 95Q did exist at the time which he used (its spring loaded)

i'd say its more of a stomping than a wahing on the whole song
