finger positionion on fretboard (corrected tab)

#1 Post by climax88 » Sat Aug 15, 2009 12:08 pm

Hi all,
first time posting here.

could someone tell me the correct finger positioning to play the following B blues lick?
I start by holding B on D string with my ring finger then I play D - E- D and back to B on the d string.
Now, which finger am I supposed to use to hit the next note (E) right before it slides to F#? Is it my ring finger which is already on top of the note E? or the pinky? Same dilemma at the end of the lick.

--------------7--9--7-------9/11-------9/10\9-7-------9-------\---------------------------
----------9-------------9---------------------------9-----------\--------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------\------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------\-------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------\
-----------------------------------10---------------------------\
--------------7--9--7-------9^11-------9/10\9-7-------9-------\
----------9-------------9---------------------------9----------\
----------------------------------------------------------------\
----------------------------------------------------------------\
fingers 3 1 3 1 1 3(bend) 4 slide(3) 1 3 3

the ^ is a band and the / / / are slides.

LEARN YOUR SCALES this is why you learn them

Actually this is all in the B pentatonic scale
---------------------------------------------7----10
-----------------------------------7----10----------
---------------------------7----9-------------------
-------------------7----9---------------------------
----------7----9------------------------------------
--7---10--------------------------------------------

fingers would be 1-4, 1-3, 1-3, 1-3, 1-4, 1-4

sorry, there was a mistake in my tab. corrected it now. From E to F# on G string should be a slide not a bend. I know it's a B blues scale.
and I think the correct finger positioning for your tab should be 1-4, 1-3,1-3,1-3,-1-4,1-4

i fixed it...

its not a Blues scale its a Minor Pentatonic scale
(the blues scale is similar but has 3 chromatic notes)
