Hey there forum mates, how are you guys doing ?
I searched for the delay settings on Paul Gilbert's Echo Song on the internet for a while, but I didn't find anything really useful, so, I wonder if anyone here knows it.
Thanx for your time !
The Echo Song
Dotted 8th note, just one repeat at 100% volume.
The trick is to play even 8ths notes yourself so the dotted 8th delay fills in the gaps to give you 16th notes. The playing isn't as fast as you might think on first impression, but you have to be very accurate over a long stretch of time...

How would you set a delay with 'millisecond' option for dotted 8th notes. I realise this depends upon the tempo but there must be a little equation for it?wasoota wrote:Dotted 8th note, just one repeat at 100% volume.

I have the actual equation or magic formula for the delay somewhere on my PC, I'll get back to you on that asap.

45 / [tempo] = [delay time] in miliseconds (or divide Bpm by 60 for beats per second and multiply that by 3/4 for a dotted 8th)Big Bad Bill wrote:How would you set a delay with 'millisecond' option for dotted 8th notes. Cool, thanks all. I'll have a bash at the 'Echo Song' tonight!
Since these are mostly solo pieces it's usually easier to practice adapting your tempo to the echo's tempo than the other way around (if you don't have tap tempo that is). Even a few miliseconds can make things nastily out of sync two minutes into the song...-SkiZ- wrote:or just tweak it untul you get it
