also RE gottardo- he was in the finals of guitar idol 2008, and many (myself included) believe he should have won, as I think he was the best there in terms of mixing style and technique. A HUGE vai influence there- it's not trick bag, but while on the subject I think his video is worth watching;

And I remember playing this piece when I was at school, about 16 and thinking I had it nailed, and was pretty much the man. Now, 7 years on, I still can't play it, and I realise how foolish I was. :P

I'm not really a fan of Gottardo's own sound.....sounds abit to much like hes pulling his own pubes out, but joking aside, he does have alot of techinque (not that I give a toss) but his solo of little wing is fantastic !...http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=G8N3zvFSe ... annel_page" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

the arp passage just kills me!

I would really love to see Steve Vai play that live..
and maybe get a hint on the right fingering

has he ever done that part live somewhere?

Always could never get that arpeggiating part up to speed! After 2 weeks with a metronome and increasing the speed I gave up and moved on to something else.... such an awesome thing to impress people with! :guitar
