i use PRS strings becuase thats what my dad uses. i have no problems with them exept that i cant trust them to not break when i try to bend them four frets in standard tuning but i dont know if any strings can be trusted to do that or not because i havent compared.

I use fishing strings. I snag all of the fisheys past the stage inward.

you know it may say all the guitarists use Ernie Ball..(not knocking ernie ball or anything) But they are kinda cheap, I mean thats what you get when you pay 5 bucks for a pack of strings.. Steve May use Ernie.. but prolly something a little better from Ernie.. I used to use them.. I collected the packages

also, touring artists have guitar techs who restring all their guitars for each gig which makes the situation a little different (I change my strings every 2 months :P)

I liked Ernie Balls.... but consistently got bad batches that wouldn't intonate properly. At first I thought it was my guitar.

I changed to DR and use the "Pure Blues" set 11-50. I also don't like the gauging of the Ernie Ball set of 11's.... the DR's seem to be a lot more natural.

Have used d addario 9-42s for years, great strings, have used Dean Markley 9-42s as well, no problems there. I use Ernie Ball skinny top heavy bottoms (9-52) On my c# standard guitar can't fault em.

Only strings I'll never ever buy again are fender strings, think they were 9-42s, i broke 4 strings in 2 weeks, and I hardly ever break strings. I was using the whammy a bit, but no more than usual. Was not impressed.

I want to get some of those DR strings, the pink ones, they look cool as!

Electric: I'm liking DR Hi-Beams right now (partially because I work for DR), used to use Ernie Ball Super Slinkys.

Acoustic: DR Sunbeams, greatest thing I've ever used

Bass: DR Evergreens, they have amazing tone and last forever.

Everyone should find what works for them. I've used D'Addarios since 1991, but lately I've been picking up different sets...just as long as the gauges stay consistent. DR's seem pretty nice...
