I use Dunlop Tortex 1.00mm. I like heavy picks for fast pieces. For chords or softer pieces I use Ernie Ball Light Guages (Not sure of the exact guage).

unlike a lot of people i have met who like to "shredd". I use a bit smaller pick. i dont know why, i guess its because iv always looked at playing the guitar more as a liquid motion then a rough motion. Let me explain.

When most people that iv seen play, they tend to pluck the string, which is not good. the more your pick grasp the string, the more tension its going to cause, the more tension you have the more it will slow a person down. To remedy this, i use a Jim Dunlop .60mm nylon pick, something not to light but not to hard. One to give me the balls when i need it, but at the same time the light gracefull tonality I look for when running through the modes. Think of strumming the strings as, wind blowing gently through your hair. Its soft, gentle but at the same time powerfull.

I play big, mean, nasty picks. Robespierre could easily behead as many Frenchmen as he might please with these great, big picks. How else is a guy supposed to cleave off all those Yngwie licks, er, I mean, Vai licks (Dont ask me how I get them SO nasty; you wouldn't want to know.)?

People have remarked on Paul's nice picks before... must be those damned Rosicrucians on the loose, again.

I usualy use 1.5mm Jim Dunlop pics and Steve`s signature pics. I must try jazz III if you say that they`re good.

I have tried many different picks but I usually use 1.0mm teardrop dunlops or 1.0mm twisted teardrop dunlops

I don't get it..every pick that's thicker than 0.7 is just too hard for me :-)
..i use dunlop tortex 0.5 [the red one]. i tried jazz, stubby..but i always end up on tortex 0.5..
