What did you name your guitar?

#1 Post by shredace » Thu Jun 05, 2003 12:29 pm

I have a Jem7VWH, and I love it, I can hardly get myself to put it down.
I named it Eden, I believe it fits it nicely. I also have a '92 Desert Sun Yellow Jem. Its like the brightest guitar I own, I bought it because it was the first Jem I could afford, and though its ugly as hell in my opinion, my fingers spent much time on its fret board. I haven't named it yet, my drummer simply calls it Banana, but I'm sure I'll find a good name soon enough. I named all 10 of my guitars but, I don't want to put you to sleep.
So, tell me, what did you name your guitars, or at least I hope you named them, if you didn't I would feel like a complete idiot. Please share your guitar's name.

My guitars have always been named. Just thought I'd share that much.

as long as we're on this topic, i just thought i'd share a piece of information that i've figured out to be effective for me. NEVER NAME A GUITAR AFTER A GIRLFRIEND, CRUSH, SIGNIFICANT OTHER, OR WHATEVER. I suppose a wife would be ok, but the point is, you probably dont want to have a guitar laying around named after someone you cant stand. While you could always just change the name of the guitar, i think thats cheating. My main guitar is named after a dog, and im pretty sure i wont ever regret that decision.

Agreed (re: above) - my instruments are named according in some way to them, their 'personality' and other influences, /never/ by family or friends or what-have-you.
It's a 'just in case' mentality, y'know?

Back in the day when I was out playing four nights a week, My guitars were called 'Main' & 'Spare' and sometimes "Oh y..y..you...you.... bastard" when a string broke!

Nowadays all 15 of em are called my sad obsession (according to my partner)

Most of mine have been names that have come to me with meaning,,,,
Yellow jem with vine was Anna in honor of a close friend. My Jem77FP was named " Mrs. Roper",,, remember her and her Moo moo's from 3's company?
UV777BK was named Grechon Liegh in memory of a deceased bro.
Jem7VWH was named after an angel that appeared to me in a dream named Dita,,,, come to find out Dita is also a Corset model and now the new g.f. of MM. Oh well,, I thought of it first...lol
My current UV777GR is named "hope" after a my bro that gave it to me said she was a green beacon of hope to the music to come.

Can't wait to name some more....
