wow, good going! i want to do a similar thing to my guitar: 'FLO-1' but haven't yet been adventurous enough to let people carve holes out of my 7VWH.

did you have any problems with having your sustainer fitted? how are you getting on with it?

one more pic

ok I said you all , dear axe murderer :D
but forgive my bad english , I m french  and I ve learn english long time ago in India It was my school

not any problem with the hole and the sustainer card cavity. I made all by myself with a " tool that fits" (sorry don t know the name)

what you need to know is about the sustainer wiring=
you must swith the soldered joint under the driver.
if not the action of mini switch will be reverse.
and if you use wireless the phase is reverse too.

If I can purpose something to you....
Dont make that on your main guitar because the driver sound is not
a humbucking neck sound.
this is strange. the sound is half single, half humbucking but not really one of tese two....(pfff hard to explain. I try my best)
Listen the clean sound of little wings on the astoria dvd.

another thing is : you loose some pickup configuration.
the 4 position: you have the entire bridge with the middle pickup
the 2 position: the driver don t swith to single

But anyway its a great great toy

Did you paint the sustainer driver white, or did you get it that way?

Nice stuff! :)

thanks loran!

i'm thinking about having a sustainer put in my vwh (it was signed and named 'FLO-1' by steve himself) and getting a Bad Horsie as my main guitar. i actually really like the sound of FLO, so that doesn't matter too much.

the problem i'm finding is that my VWH means too much to me! i would hate to take it somewhere, and then they do a bad job, or damage the guitar in some way. but since you did the work yourself, you are either very brave, or very skilled! good work!!!

The Ibanez logo on EVO is black, not gold. Change that and you got it down. Years of abuse will do the rest of the job.
