Replacement Trem Help

#1 Post by DallyBee » Fri Nov 06, 2015 2:35 pm

Hello all! I've just joined this forum as I've seen many posts about this topic before but wanted some clarity on this for myself.

I recently bought a 1999 Ibanez RG450LTD. It's a little beaten up so I'm going to be replacing a few things (Pups, pickguard & re-solder etc).

I am stuck however on finding a suitable replacement trem and after weeks of forum hunting I cannot find a definitive answer. The guitar has a Lo Trs trem on it. I've heard that a OFR or Gotoh should just drop right in, but most the posts I've seen have been referring to the Lo Trs II, and not the Lo Trs I have in this guitar. Can anyone help please?

its not as easy as it sounds

its not as easy as you think

and nothing will probably be as easy as just dropping it in and it working

my advice

find another RG for parts- problem solved

My last RG 1999 MIJ its like a 570 maybe a 550 idk- was $89 a week ago
