So..damm. I got a kind of a dilemma here man. Should I..
A : (keep) save enough money to buy that one awesome guitar. I halfway there...Almost. (A Ibanez js10th chrome boy) Or B : Use the money I have now, to repair and restore the gear I have now? I still
have a broken peavey 5150. a g-force that needs to be looked at ..(etc)

What should I do...??

that's an EASY one

Get the Chrome JS

I bought a broken 5150 head for under $200
Ironically enough after I got it fixed (I don't think there was any charge by my amp guy to fix it) I couldn't even get more than $200 for it..
I've bought a 5150 combo for $200 also- so there are cheap 5150's out there so don't let the idea of fixing a broken one get in the way of your dream guitar.

While the Gforces are $1800 new- USED they sell for as low as $400.
By the time you deal with overseas tc electronic and get the parts or knobs that are broken you'll realize they sent you the wrong one then 3 months later you have all the old parts- you get it fixed blah blah blah not worth it- sell it as is for $250-300 maybe someone doesn't realize how much they're selling for now and you can get 400 for it as is- -then pickup a gforce when you see a steal on one...

in fact- in todays technology get a G Major 2- it caught up with the gforce and as long as you don't need super crazy tweaking of the pitch block of it- you're fine....

if you said 'i want to get this fixed and that fixed' and they're unreplacable and really expensive/worth a ton used- i'd say do it... but when top dollar for a 5150 mint working fine is like $400-500 and a gforce is 400-450 forget it- get the JS- because in 5 years the 5150 will be worth $350 and the gforce $250- and the chromeboy will be worth twice what you paid.

a chromeboy will also be losing its finish ...not very good at all...just like the Mirror Jems.

if you really want a chrome finish buy a normal JS and send it to Martin Sims

the preproduction mirror jems lost their finish- (for example all of vai's)
but the ones that were released for sale- were fine and still are to this day as long as they weren't abused

i think same applies to chrome boys

Well, I found another Ibanez Js10th Anniversary Chrome boy for much less money in much better condition and ahhh..There's a fat change that its going to be mine. Just a few weeks....Just a few more. Its incredible and almost surreal that this guitar is soon added to the collection. Now I only have to find the Ibanez Jem777LNG and my life's complete.

Here she is ladies and gentlemen. My Ibanez JS10th Ann. Chrome Boy. So beautiful, so cool and soo unreal. But its no illusion. She's really standing here.. In my house. She's in excellent condition, the unique chrome lacquer is good. She stays in tune, comes complete with all the case candy and she sounds to "fat". I've never been so happy. Enjoy the pics.
