Pricing of a good JEM 7DBK these days??

I've found a really well kept 7DBK I was thinking of obtaining. What is the current pricing on one of these in near mint condition? Looks to me like the used cost of all JEM's has went up this year. Guitar center has these priced well over a grand and most of theirs are not in near mint condition...

well the key is how much are they asking

if its under $1000- take it

i think 1000 is fair- white jems are 1400 average i think black ones have less resale value

is it the textured black with screw inlays? or just black?

either way i wouldn't pay more than 1000-1200 but i'm cheap

Yes its the textured black one with screw inlays. The deal is not worked out yet. Thinking of trading one of my acoustic guitars and some cash for it.

i'm pretty familiar with the acoustic guitar market-
as long as its not a 1964 Martin then TRADE IT and throw cash

Guitar center gets pretty ridiculous on acoustics- many have a huge mark up

(paid 515 for my 699 or 799 street price taylor)

and most models i'm sure you could pick up on craigslist a few months from now for half of what you got for it.

Ibanez Euphorias are pretty hard to come by- but if you can trade an acoustic for a jem- do it

the jem is a better investment

Pretty much the same here in Holland except it's in euros ;)

Well I made a final offer. No word yet. With this guitar having an even thinner wizard neck, breed pickups and such I don't see a big market for this ax model line even though it is considered a JEM. The thin neck may be cool on a players side, but what happens when it may fall due to unknown issues? Does the thin neck break on an easy fall from an excited dog, child, or other? Anyone with a 10th they want to sell for cheap? :D

Hey guys, Is this a real 7DBK or is is fake? I just saw a site selling these for $200 shipped and they had a pretty legit photo of the real deal, as the photo I assume is fake too??, for $200 shipped from China. I can't seem to find any ad posters or flyers showing this exact JEM model to compare to. Pick guard screw pattern and # used, Neck joint bolt pattern, looks correct when compared to 7vwh. The trem spring back plate throws me as I have seen 2 different versions, solid and slotted. Which is correct and more??? China is getting really good these days. Please reply quick if you can. Thanks! ( I know get it and play it, but that is a chore at the moment )

its real pictures of a real jem but NO you're not going to get a real jem
and $400 shipped is EXPENSIVE for a china jem knock off

they're half that with shipping

don't buy one unless you want a fake

the photos are of a REAL jem but they'll send you a fake one

Jeries, you don't understand what I'm saying. The photos are of the guitar I want to trade for. I reference the CHINA $200 crap as they are now making phony copies of this model as well.

See below for the last photo just received of the head stock. I'm not sure if you agree.

I need to go 2 hours each way to complete the trade. Just making sure it's a real one.

Everything I have seen in the photos says yes... the FONT is different from my 2002 7VHW serial # wise. Is this because in 2003 they went with a new tremolo? Changed the serial # font too????

Glad to know from what you have seen in the photos you feel it to be a real JEM though. Another set of eyes is always great! I'll take an RP 500 stomp board with a hand held battery pack and pair it with a logitech s715 (ipod) speaker system to test the guitar on a job site. I use this same set up to teach youths in my garage / yard. Sounds good believe it or not. Use the RP through a make shift PA system... Try it and you will be amazed for lower volume sessions...

that thick thick skunk stripe is only in MIJ guitars- the china knockoffs NEVER have them
i've never seen them knock off the finish with the texture either

I agree with you Jeries, but here you can buy one for $200 shipped? ( Please no one click and buy this as it is FAKE ) http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Wholesal ... 19498.html

Also, I got it / confirmed trade for under a grand. After I see it in person I'll know what I have or walk away.

Building my JEM collection one by one. Got the bottom and middle covered. I think I'll like the neck and pickup changes from what I've seen on utube. Now to the rare ones....
