Ok I was playing today and I literally just did a dive bomb- and the shaft snapped. I mean really? Has Vai ever even done this? I have the worst luck with trem mechanics lol. What is the easiest way I should buy a new one? If they sell them from the ibanez site or should I get one from ibanez rules, or something else...? And I apologize my pictures aren't working jeroen made it so Pictures can't be posted that over 701 pixels or whatever. Jeroen, can you make it larger or tell me how to constrain them or something? Mobile devices don't work we'll with the limit.

By "shaft" do you mean trem post? If so, take it to a shop to get it replaced. Typically you need to use a press to get it in correctly and seated properly. You can do it with a hammer, but unless you really know what you are doing, I wouldn't fix that one myself.

no no, the tremolo arm shaft that the bar pops into. I didn't think it was possible to break those

Oh yeah, you can break the posts. I've done it.

The arm holder is an easy fix. StewMac makes a Schaller replacement arm which is better than the Ibanez in my opinion. You would get the part that attaches to the trem and the arm. It's a screw type though, more like a floyd. If you want the same kind that just pops in, you can just order a new arm holder from Rich at IbanezRules.

http://www.ibanezrules.com/parts.htm#Trem_Parts

He's pretty good about emailing and directions, so if you order the part, he will tell you how to replace it. It's easy. About 5 minutes.
