Hi folks,

It's been almost a year since I got my Premium Jem, since then changed things "quite" a bit.

Added gold hardware, traded my Edge for a new gold Lo-Pro, got Gotoh tuners and nut. But, it was not enough, so I decided to go nuts and get a Sustainer FSK101 kit.

As you will be able to see on the pics, it's not on the usual "Vai" position, it's under the pickguard, yeah, that big PCB is right there. Straight on the back is the battery box, which can be easily removed to mess with the trimpots.

Other than that I had two extra switches, and a 500k pot that I decided to give use to.

One is a killswitch, the other a coil tap for the bridge pickup, the pot is the Sustainer intensity pot.

(Little side note: for those who don't know, the Fernandes Sustainer FSK101 and FSK401 are the same exact system. The only difference is that the FSK401 come with an extra 500k pot and a 3 way mode switch. In my opinion that doesn't compensate for the extra 100$, you can wire the pot and switch in a few minutes, as I did.)

So my switch now goes as follows:

Sustainer off: Regular Jem.
Sustainer on: Bridge Pickup+Sustainer

Sustainer off: Coil Tap Bridge South Coil in Bridge position.
Coil Tap bridge south coil+Middle.

These last two are very interesting sounds.

I can also coil tap the bridge with the sustainer on, sounds thinner, of course.

So, after this big"posterior" wall of text, PICS!!!!

looks good

but if you were going to upgrade the trem...

you should have ditched the edge for a Genuine Floyd Rose Pro

its a much better trem in quality and materials

i'm in the process of upgrading 2 of my edges to real FR

That old argument again?

I like the Edge, its an amazing trem, never had any issues with it and holds any abuse I throw at it.

IMO the OFR is shit in comparison to the Edge. Edge has infinitely better balance. :)
