Help choosing pickup color and type

#1 Post by djkal » Fri Aug 31, 2012 12:56 pm

Hi all i would like to know what color and what type of dimarzio you would swap those original pickups,,, my choice i think would be pink pups and tone/volume and a blue or pink dimarzio straplock,,,, and maybe Gravity Storm as type,,,, RG570-1997

Also blue/pink combo color pickup should look nice too.

Either sounds like a good combo. Post a pic on the route you decide to take.

And if you ever decide to get rid of the old pups, hit me up. I have a RG470 & RG570 with the same config and I like the sound I get with the originals.

Thanks, Steve R

i would not go with blue or pink pickups- i'd get black pickups and a blue cliplock strap

i've almost gotten colored pickups but dimarzio actually talked me out of it
(yellow 25th anniversary s guitar)

i'm glad i went with black though...

anyway pickup wise

i'd go with an Evolution set

or an Evolution neck/bridge and maybe a CHOPPER in the middle if you want more punch/output in the middle instead of single

I'd choose an Evo2 for the bridge, Evolution single and Evolution neck. Black color though. For the strap, i'd go with black or blue.

i would try a de-aired at-1,works well in any guitar.
i currently use many of the mentioned pups.
the at-1 seems to do it all, nice output, fairly balanced tone.

they made a 25th RG that's half the price with dots instead of sharkfins- even better

if the RG is basswood i'd go with an evo2
if its alder or you want more output evo

Yep, I'm using this criteria all the time. But this guitar is basswood, hence the Evo2 suggestion
