What do you think on new Jem?

Nice IMO! Anybody knows if that's an Edge?

it doesn't say where it's made

and JEM's are equal to prestiges (if not a better name than Prestige)

it's prob made in Japan (could be korea)

Ibanez makes a few S series Prestige guitars in Korea

Note that this is Premium, not Prestige. These are made in Indonesia but are supposed to have top notch wood and quality. Much better than regular Indo-guitars but they aren't Prestige. Jems 505 were Prestige and MIJ and were much uglier...I think these new ones will have better sales replacing that mid-range jems.

BTW, Ibanez is not producing anything in Korea for years...everything is coming from Japan, Indonesia or China.

The new S series Prestiges are in Korea

If Ibanez is making JEMs in Indonesia they're a joke and I will tape over the logo on all my guitars from now on...

They call Prestige guitars PREMIUM in Japan i think and in different markets

...anything they make in Indonesia is trash

They built a new factory in Indonesia and the people that work there are hand trained by the luthiers from Japan specifically from the new Premium line of guitars. Its not the same crappy Indo factory that the cheap Indo's are made.

The Prestige is still a valid line in every country like it has been. Premium and prestige are not country specific. Different factories and different models.

I absolutely LOVE it! I had submitted a seafoam green Jem for the infamous contest a few years ago--so it's cool to see this.
As far as you Indo-Ibanez bashers--you obviously have never played a Premium model and have no knowledge of the shop's quality control. They are top-notch, and worth every penny.

I think it looks really great! Will pick one up as soon as it gets available.

Actually, all the Prestiges are made in Japan now. The old S2170 is the only S Prestige i know of that was made in Korea. Had one and it played great.

Ok I take my previous comment back. I saw a video of the one on display at NAMM and I LOVE this new color. Sad about no more 77 that I was saving up for so deperatley, but now I can get one of these and put a sustainer in it. I found a place that custom shops differend colored 401 covers. Yes.. now, save for a vlcarvin... :/

get a super expensive amp first before you get an expensive guitar

none of my guitars are over $500
but any one of my amps (and a few processors) cost more than a JEM

decent guitar+dimarzio pickups+expensive amp > expensive guitar+ $100 amp

Legacy's are good amps for the money- but I'm talking about amps 2-3-4x the price of a legacy
