Obviously wikipedia doesn't include guitar-oriented vernacular. That's different from calling an apple an orange.
Would this suit you better?

Yeah, the word is firmly embedded in the guitarist's english language, and you ain't gonna change that just by pointing it out in a pointless thread.
Its commonly well known fact what Tremolo and Vibrato mean. I guess you're just trying to sound smart or something, or you are just obsessive-compulsive and then you should really seek some professional help.
They've been called Tremolos since the very beginning of guitar tremolos.
Accept that fact, and move on.
Amen Mr. RAR,
I was wondering when someone was going to bring this up. I realy hate to say this but, everyone knows this as true. A trem doesn't vary volumne. It is indeed a vibrato. We know this and still call it a Tremolo. Live with it.

Mr. Lucky,
No, your right on this. I am not one for calling stuff the wrong thing.
I have had a lot of guys say, "you know what? this isn't really a tremolo".
But they have been branded "Tremolo". Whats a guy to do. I have and have freinds who have called them "Vibratos". And I will in the future.

I have an idea
, Why not call the bridge after the love of your life?:D, so if your Girlfriend or wife's name is for example, Lucy, then call the bridge Lucy or Steph or Jamima or Cinderella or Snow White or whatever tickles your fancy
Take care and peace always everyone

Take care and peace always everyone

LMAO
, I was joking around Al, you goat
lol
but yeah, Al's right, in the end of the day, everyone has their own referrences to the tremolo bridge and I'm sticking to what I know of it, which ain't that much, but so long as the bridge does it's purpose and does it well, I'm happy
