Jem 77FP or Jem 7VWH?

Which is the better jem to buy in terms of reliablity, appearence, sound and construction. My aim is to have a nice sounding body to cope with the sustain through a Marshall AVT half stack, and boss me-50 effects processor. Also i am seeking a nice smooth sounding neck pickup which can deliver out standing arpeggio's, also a mid pickups or lush sounding chords and lastly a bridge pickup or pinch harmonics that fly out of the amp.
More info on bridge aswell edge pro, edge pro 2, i like fluttering the trem arm alot aswell and i am a very consistent user of the trem.
Pleasse Post all your info on both guitars Thanks.

I think if had the choice I´d definetely go for the JEM7VWH, because it´s way easier to find (actually at every musicstore) compared to the FP (would be very complicated to find one in a mint condition for a good price). Another fact which is a plus for the Jem7VWH are the scalloped frets! But take your time and think carefully about it. This is just MY opinion, but you are the one who´s supposed to be happy with your guitar

I'd had a hard time choosing, but in the end I think I would end up with the FP. It's a bit different and I really like it! Can't believe I've actually played one, I mean now they're discontinued and back then I didn't even know what a JEM was

Talking about the look I'd go or a FP
But think about what you have to play (which main genre) and you'll come to a good solution; I think you'll find a lot more 7VWH in the used market, but I don't know about the actual price compared to a FP...

You must test both and decide yourself, it is always very personal
great sound (PAF PRO)
the best playability I have ever felt
I sold my Jem77FP today
But I have my Jem7vwh and will always have it
I sold the Jem77FP because I dont play so much guitar longer
and I dont like to have excellent guitars stored and not used.

I would buy whichever of the two will sell for more should you eventually decide to sell it. I had a go on a regular white jem last week, and I was pretty shocked and dissapointed. The guitar was £1800, it didn't have a sustainer, it didn't have a tremsetter, there's probably a vast difference in the quality of woods, cause there's no way to tell, and steve isn't going to settle for any old guitar strait off the conveyer belt(my opinion obviously) So, really, to pay that much for it, I want what Steve Vai plays, not a different guitar, which is exactly what it is. So, me, I'd go for a J custom.

I'd take the 7vw. I had one and the sound is truly awesome. I like the alder even know I'm an ash kind of guy, but this guitar made aldar sound soo good. Very bright and crisp with loads of sustain.

I just finished rebuilding my 7FP today, and after the Morningshow, I will be in my practice room to test it!
I am hoping that it will sound better than the original???
its the sister from steves FLO, to the most!
I replaced the Bridge PU with an Evo ll, kept the single coil a HS-2 Dimarzio, and she now has the 401 single coil sustainer kit, with attack adjust!
as I checked the hook ups and soldering this evening, the only thing that I discovered in that moment was that the short cable I was using is broken somewhere? It kept crackling like a fool!
piece of Donkey doo cable junk!
anyway, tonight is the time to jam!!
P.S. I have reached 100! Beer for everybody!!!
