Tom delonge what the hell !!!!! His 3 cords can really make me scared ( sarcasm). Hey What about Paul Gilbert and Nuno Bettencourt.
Nuno : Nuno is kind of like yngwie exept not as fast but very tasteful , very classical style. he also is fully into funk guitar and has the sickest rythms eg ( Too much of a good thing)
Paul : Just download some of his lessons and him live in Japan. And goes good with Billy Sheehan

1 more thing theres another guy called Rex Carroll worth checking out. He was in a band called White Cross and they were Like Stryper but with EVH.

The greatest choice: Al Di Meola. They need (Vai and Satch) some other kind of player in G3. I watched Meola in Hungary in Summer. He has been on the top. His play and fantasia are delightful.
Fripp was a black blot for me on the G3 in Budapest. Sorry, I couldn't understand what he did and want there. Then again Meola was incredible.

Yes Al di Meola is a fantastic player and technically equal or even better than the other two G's.

As much as I'd love to see Gilobert or Nuno with them, I can't help but think that Tommy Emmanuel would just be the perfect choice. He adds the "depth" of music that they seem to be looking for, but he's by no means a "stand still and perform" guitarist like some of the other guys are. He really puts on a show, and ANYONE that plays guitar or likes guitar, will LOVE Tommy. Plus, I've seen him play ROCK music as well, and he's just as good at that, he'd fit right in. Vote 1 = Tommy Emmanuel

I would love to see as the 3rd G3 during 2005 any of the following:

:) Steve Morse ( he's one of the best )

:guitar Paul Gilbert ( he's a genius, he plays fast as hell and he can sing as well as Joe - I mean they both sing awful but extremely cool - )

:x Marty Friedman ( he's also a genius )

:? Van Halen ( or even better DAVID LEE ROTH!!! Hey, Steve has Billy Sheehan on Bass, the Bissonette brother is with Joe, just David Lee Roth is missing here! "I'm talking about the Yankee Rose" :headbang ! )

 Zakk Wylde ( i know that is not going to happen, but it would be like WOOW )

 BucketHead ( In the present day he's my choice , without doubt he's the most imaginative guitar performer out there, Buckethead has an incredible technique and a very bizarre way to express through music, it would be a very spectacular moment of the show (maybe a little bit spooky) ! G3 with buckethead would be like a Dream in Technicolor with nunchakus all over it !)

 Jeff Beck ( I'm sure that Steve and Joe are dreaming every night with this since the first G3 )

8) Jason Becker ( We know that you are going to get better soon Jason, you definitively are the 3rd G3!!)

What do you think?

From those guys, I'd say Steve Lukather.
Marty Friedman would be my second choise.
But atleast one name was missing: What ever happened to Andy Timmons!? :?
If his name had been there I would've chosen that immidiately. He rocks!
