My first show ever was Voivod in December 1983.

Here are some others I remember:
-Alice Cooper (with Motorhead opening)
-Joe Satriani (Flying In A Blue Dream tour)
-Metallica (Black Album tour)
-Chick Corea Electric Band (Eric Johnson opening)
-Al Di Meola (four times and I'm going again on July 4 2004)
-Tangerine Dream
-Anthrax (White Zombie and Voivod opening)
-Kiss (Revenge tour, Reunion tour96, Psycho Circus 3D tour)
-Ozric Tentacles (1994 Montreal)
-King Crimson (California Guitar Trio opening)
-G3 1997 (Satriani, Vai and Michel Cusson)
-Rush
-Deep Purple (Emerson Lake & Palmer and Dream Theater opening)
-Zappa Tribute by an orchestra+rock band (don't remember their name)
-Beethoven's 9th Symphony
-Dream Theater (Joe Satriani opening)
-Bob Brozman (many many times at our summer festival)
-Steve Hackett
-Rosenberg Trio
-Taraf De Haidouks
-Mariza (amazing fado singer)

That's all I can remember right now.

All joking aside, Mr.R1FSR you must go to concerts for a living!!
Thats heavy. I am at a loss as what to say about this list!
I stopped counting at 150 shows ....

Yours in fellowship.

LOL..
went to my first gig when i was around 10 yrs old..my cousin used to take me..to be honest i dont remember much about the first hand full of gigs wich is a great shame as there are some classic ones.

we then started going to anyone and everyone that was playing within train distance..we sometimes did 4 gigs a week..bearing in mind that tickets only cost £4 for a major gig...think i payed £3 for the Sabbath show with Van Halen supporting...if that was to happen now it would cost you 10 times that at least. lol
some cost only £1.50 .

couple more i remember..
Bad Company in the 70s..awesome.
and how could i miss G3 shows from the list ...dohh
one of the most memorable gigs was VAIs sex & religeon tour..i was stood in front of steve all night...and he kept flicking guitar piks at me...i think i got to go home with more Piks than he did lol.
Ive Never seen a more hyper person the Devin Townsend...brilliant to watch..but a complete Nutter.

Sad thing is i have 90% of all the ticket stubs from the concerts ive been to.

except for the Motorhead ones cos around 40+ where free  but thats another thread/tale.

cheers

Cool thread. I see I'm not the only one that's 30 or older.

1990 Rush w/Mr Big. My first concert. Not bad for first time out.
1990 Whitesnake w/ Fasterpussycat. Mr Vai's birthday in Vancouver.
1990 Kiss w/Winger Reb Beach rules
1990 Living Colour small venue, great show
1991 Van Halen w/Alice in Chains Got to meet Eddie, Alex and Sammy. Sam and Alex were great but Eddie got freaked out and took off without signing everyones stuff. There were like a dozen people there. Worst sounding show. It was in BC Place.

1992 Red Hot Chilipeppers Flea is gooooood.
1992 Mr Big. Got to meet the whole band. They were all great.
1993 Living Colour w/Bad Brains
1993 (2 days after Living Colour) Sting w/ the Cranberries. We were late and missed the Cranberries. Thank god. Best sounding show
1993 Steve Vai. Got to meet Steve at the Sony store. They guy was pure class all the way.
1994 Fishbone
1995 Bootsy Collins that was a wicked show.
1996 Fishbone w/ Biohazard
1996 Kiss w/Stabbing westward. Had to see them in makeup.
1996 (2 days later) Def Leppard. Free tickets, really close. Great sounding show. Not a big Def Leppard fan though, but they won me over.
1999 Shania Twain. As you can see I'm not single anymore and haven't been since 1996. Lol.

I've live on Vancouver island my whole life. If I'd lived on the mainland I'd have probably gone and see at least triple my list.

Well, who do I wanna see now??
Mr Vai again.
Kylie Minogue (Front row baby)
Prince
Britney (Front row as well.)
Planet X
Paul Gilbert

lol, yeah..... Logic.... methinks we need to pass this 'seen-the-most-shows' prize around the ranks for a while...

btw, R1FSR, you've got a great list of shows!

yeah, this is a very cool discussion.... like NatiFable and Plook say, it's really fun to read about what shows people have attended. 8)

erhm, which reminds me....i've thought of a couple more shows i've been to....

The Corrs
Garbage
Third Eye Blind
Collective Soul
Go-Go's
George Carlin (does he count? )
Golden Earring
Nazareth (hehe lol, anybody remember these guys?!)

ok..
here goes..Many Many moons ago..
i was involved with the UK Motorhead fan club..
and i used to travel to leeds..home of phil Taylor..(original drummer)
Helen (Phil taylors sister) used to run the Fan club.
so one thing led to another..i used to help organize partys club meets etc.
This was the height of there Fame..during the Ace of spades tour .
So i used to tag along on the tours for nearly every show.
Although i had been following them since late 70s.
i have LOADS of recordings from when they used to practice..and if you ever heard them , you would never guess who it was in a million years.
they used to practice tunes like the Beatles, chuck berry, elvis etc all oldies like that..
I have got to add here that Lemmy is one of the nicest blokes you could possibly meet.

Iahve lots of fond memories from them days..they where great.

yeah, i'm with ya on the envious-of-R1FSR trip, Logic!! that's one impressive list of shows, to be sure!
but, i think we oughtta deduct some points on the prize-o-meter since R1 had to look at his concert ticket stubs to recall some of these ;) [lol, truth to told, i'd do the same if i hadn't lost my memorabilia box in one of my many moves]

hehe, i had Nazareth on vinyl..... and 8-track cassettes, too 8)

yah haha nazareth's the shit

okay im just going to go over the major ones that dont include a lot of local band and bands that are kinda big but not really

System of a Down
P.O.D.
Meshuggah
Pulse Ultra
DMB
G3 (Vai, Satch, Malmsteen)
Eric Johnson (one of my favorite shows by far)

I also saw a classical guitar concert in Boston with Daniel Lippel, it was good i liked it. It was in a church and there was only about ten people in the audience.

and...

I am going to...

Allman Brothers in august

and

Clapton on the 4th of July

all in all its a pretty weak list, probably because im poor and im only 19 soo i have time to catch up i guess
