Favourite guitarist ther than vai
Paul Gilbert by far, one cos down to mexico is the fastest song i know how to play, and two cos, all I can say is, goto the racer x website n theres a video of him on stage playing solo. anyone who says hes not totally awesome after watching that deserves a slap

Although I like pretty much every guitarist in the poll.....Joe Satriani is my fave without a doubt......Great list!!!

Cool poll, though. You might also want to trek over to Tinfoil and vote in the "best guitarist" poll before it's replaced ("best bassist" is next), but you'll have to write Steve in. http://music.tinfoil.net
Last I checked, Steve Vai was in third place behind 1) Jimi Hendrix, and 2) Steve Stevens. EVH was pretty high on the list, too.

joe satriani. i usually go in phases where i will listen to tons of steve vai but no satriani then ill listen to loads of satriani's stuff and not much vai. its funny to listen to recordings from each period because my satch phases have much more legato playing and my vai phases are more shred.

I love all of the above mentioned players.
But out of them all, I prefer Satch. So my vote goes for Satch!!

Slash - He's got it all, tone , skill, oh and he's created the best solos ever!

Zakk Wylde - Sheer agression in his playing i like it!
