I voted Satch out of those guitarists. I would have put EVH, SRV and Jimi there as well, though.

Uuummmmmm..... you mis-spelled Rhoads (assuming you were referring to Randy).

Cool poll, though. You might also want to trek over to Tinfoil and vote in the "best guitarist" poll before it's replaced ("best bassist" is next), but you'll have to write Steve in. http://music.tinfoil.net

Last I checked, Steve Vai was in third place behind 1) Jimi Hendrix, and 2) Steve Stevens. EVH was pretty high on the list, too.

Pablo Gilberto. The guy rocks. He can write great pop songs too.

joe satriani. i usually go in phases where i will listen to tons of steve vai but no satriani then ill listen to loads of satriani's stuff and not much vai. its funny to listen to recordings from each period because my satch phases have much more legato playing and my vai phases are more shred.

I love all of the above mentioned players.
But out of them all, I prefer Satch. So my vote goes for Satch!!

8)

HH.

P.S. Thank God there where only a few. I thought there would be like 150 guitarists there. Then the choice would be impossible!

Guys i like as much as Steve (maybe more  )

Gary Moore - Has got the best tone i've ever heard and is absolutly amazing.
Eddie Van Halen - Problerly my favourite hard rock tone i love his earlier work.
Joe Satriani - For so many reasons!
Slash - He's got it all, tone , skill, oh and he's created the best solos ever!
Jimi Hendrix - Jawdropping.
Randy Rhoads - Sheer class love his work!
Zakk Wylde - Sheer agression in his playing i like it!
Jimmy Page - One of the original and best crew.

I could ramble on all night about guitarists i love this is just the few that srping to mind immediatly :)
