Don't take this as official by any means, but I was at the meet & greet last night where Joe was asked about the next G3 - he said it's planned to be him, Eric Johnson and John Petrucci (no Steve Vai) - starting in South America towards the end of the year and moving to Australia. After Christmas, they'll move to the US and then to Europe for a Summer tour - though he didn't say the lineup would stay the same throughout.

I would defenitly love to see Vau, Satriani, and John 5 or Steve Stevens. I dunno about eddie van halen. He's a badass guitarist but do u reall want to hear eruption over and over again. He's just one of thos badass band guitarist not solo.

Forgot to mention - he said he would love to have Van Halen or Kirk Hammet but thinks they'd be too big a draw to bring along.

"Too big a draw?" how does that work? Surely getting the G3 tour more exposure would be a good thing....

Ah well, I much prefer Eric Johnson and JP anyway.

I'd love to see EVH hit the road just to get out of whatever slump he's in now. I'd pay $$$ to do nothing more than watch Eddie sit on stage and noodle around for 45min... as long as he was sober and serious about what he was doing.

Jeff Beck would be fantastic to see in a small venue.

I'm late to this thread but has anyone mentioned Dweezil Zappa? Steve and Dweezil could do a mini "Zappa Plays Zappa" tour - and Dweezil has quite a bit of instrumental stuff he could do...

Imagine this:

G3: Steve Vai
Joe Satriani
Jimi Hendrix (if he was still alive, ofcourse)

Wouldn't that be great!?
