Favorite Classical Composers/Pieces

I'm always really interested to see what people on this board listen to outside of shred. Let's try to turn one another onto some cool classical composers (Steve doesn't count).

My favorite is probably Charles Ives. Favorite pieces include Central Park In The Dark, Piano Sonata #2, and the Largo for Violin and Piano. Ives was an American composer living around the turn of the 20th century. His style is often very poly-tonal and his themes draw heavily from American folk music, though the challenging harmony often disguises some of them.

Other favorites are Bach, Messiaen, Ginastera. But check out Ives if you haven't already.

I like it all bro. Stella by Starlight, Misty, and other Jazz Standards, right on through Mozarts, Bachs and Campellis, all the way to Satches, and Vais, and Batios. As long as I can get a sence of emotion through the music, and its not mindless lyrical content (think nsync/britney spears junk) I can get into it

At the moment its 'Spiegel im Spiegel by Arvo Pärt. Its so fragile and vulnerable in its beauty.
