I just want to pick everyones brain and find out what everyones favorite guitar instructional books are to get some ideas for new books to grab. Enlighten me.

My top 3 are:

1. Soloing Strategies for Guitar-Tom Kolb
-Best book for Scale Patterns and guides you through which scales to go through first.
2. Solo Guitar Playing Series-Frederick Noad
If your a classical guitarist I can't think of a better book. Great for sight reading and the songs are actually appealing to the ear (no "Mary Had A Little Lamb") :)
3. Zen Guitar- Philip Toshio Sudo
A Martial Art disciplined perspective on playing the guitar

I only need one:
The Guitar Handbook by Ralph Denyer

If i had to take a second

The Beatles: Complete Scores

If I had those 2 no need for a third.

If I'm stranded on an island, improving my guitar chops is not exactly very high on my list of priorities....

Have to agree, I wouldn't take abook if im stranded..... Water seems to be more important... But to answer I would take Fretboard Logic, Berklee Press Music Theory 1-2, and How Music Really Works.

Or maybe a song book! that I'm nowhere near the level of playing so I can practice!

I would probably take a book called something along the lines of....How to Get the Fuck Off an Island, Particularly if You're Stranded on One....

funny how he edited his post to not ask about what books he would bring if you were stranded on adesert island. Where would I find an ibanez, or any guitar for that matter, any guitar? Or amp? I guess you can play guitar bu thought. Funny, that's what I do during school when my teachers are teaching how to factor monomials.

I would bring a different book with me.. how to live on a desert island or a human anatomy book, like.how long do I have to go without water before I start hallucinating that I'm in Steve's band.

1) Guthrie Govan's Creative Guitar 2:Advanced Techniques.
2) Troy Stetina: Speed Mechanics for Lead Guitar
3) The Master System (1992 - and very hard to find), came with awesome transparencies.
