personally i don't think there's much soul in electronic instruments such as the keyboards and electric guitars

guitars of the same make usually sound largely the same
older acoustic instruments though, might be some soul there

hence inventions like these

I think instruments are just the instruments as what they are but you can give your soul into them while you're playing, or not.

If the instrument you are playing speaks to you by allowing you to make yourself play happier and more comfortable than ever before,..Thank the energy it's made of for the worth it saw in you, and cherish it and let it speak,...and protect it.

It is you, and you are it.

Hey RAI,

Yes, previously I thought that material things can only be filled with spiritual content with the help of human beings. Not sure about musical instruments though..

To me, "soul" is carried by emotions, compassion, experience, etc.
Clearly, a guitar cannot display any emotions.
Any emotions you perceive, are merely projected onto the object by the user.

Character, however, is automatically included in almost everything.
Particularly in something as complex and organic as a guitar.
This is why no two guitars feel, or sound, the same.
And even if they were to start out being fairly similar, the road they travel, will start to separate them.
They will have different "experiences" (how they are treated and cared for), and therefore character will start to show.
(And with that character, you as a user may start to "project your emotions" on the object, making you think that it has a "soul".)

People are the same.
Different experiences will lead to character development.
Of course, that is paired with our soul...

There is more than that. People are different in terms everyone is unique as a person. Even similar experiences can lead to different character features development - and that depends on which features have already been developed and how exactly.. and even when. So go figure. :)

We are all just physical expressions of the vibrations of matter, energy & spirit. Music is made of the vibrations of matter and energy, and enhances the spirit. While your guitar may not be of the Godhead, it surely will help you get there.

You are not your body, you are not your guitar. With the meditation of practice and playing, your body and your guitar can become part of you, and when this happens truly you may spy a tiny glimpse of the unseen beauty that surrounds you.

Its just a cool image that conjures up feelings of mystery and 'unseen knowledge' which is perfect for Steve's musical persona. Guitars are very beautiful things that sound amazing in the right hands and we spend a lot of time with them, our sweat, blood and tears soaked into the very timber of the fretboard and so I can see why the assignment of a soul to it would be tempting-after all, humans are cowering cave people with a thin veneer of rationality and civilisation on top-but guitars are just wire and wood in reality.

Wood comes from the trees. Trees are a life form?
