http://www.spotify.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Service that allows you to stream lots of music for free, legally. The only catch is there are a few adverts from time to time.

What's everyone's opinion on this?

I like Spotify, but then I'm not a "Fanboy" who feels the need to own things! :wink:

I think Spotify is a great idea, but already a lot of music has been taken away because of record company mumbo jumbo. The entire Tool catalogue is gone for instance. And I've noticed that some songs are censored.

I don't use it even half as much as I used to.

Spotify rocks for sure, the quality is amazing. I compared to Mp3's in 192khz and it was better than that.

Seems like I'm WAY behind the times with this one - I only got it set up last night but already I'm highly impressed by it

except Deezer is really 100% free and is not asking for any kind of paying(here in europe it says 9.99 euros) registration upfront, it asks you to simply register(for free unlike spotify)after you PLAYED three songs. you just type in the song you want to hear and click "play", I haven't seen anything quite like it online so far. (of course it's all down to the artist/record company to allow their material or not, that's why you won't find any recent material by Prince or Metallica -examples on purpose-)

well, there's also http://www.grooveshark.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

but spotify is a great thing though, just need the record companys to start believing in it fully..

naturally they don't trust a little stupid swedish company, they probably think sweden = pirate bay :)
