Greatest Guitar Solo Tunes (to play in front of girls)

#1 Post by klangmaster TM » Sat Oct 25, 2008 1:39 pm

Hi there,
Do You know any really great solo stuff to play in front of girls/parents (my or hers ;) ) on acoustic (for a while, let's focus on that one). I really want to play something really heart touching, that would go through skin color, beliefs, religion and so on. Something, that would touch another's person heart and make birds sing along when I'm around - something like this ;)

I would really appriciate any songs. Thanks in advance :)

I said - solo. Tasty song to play alone, not metal crunches with band.

Frente's version of the New Order classic 'Bizarre Love Triangle' is very touching and sweet-especially the lyrics http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJ1c9ErCn7w

You're wasting your time.

Here's a preview of my guide of playing guitar for girls:

1. Throw your electric guitar out
2. Buy an acoustic guitar
3. Forget how to play fast
4. Familiarize yourself with the DADGAD tuning
5. Learn to play suspended and augmented chords

Not all girls go for acoustic guitar, I wouldn't throw the electric one out, just my advice :)

A few I usually play on acoustic when ppl are around are

More Than Words - Extreme
If I Could Change The World - Eric Clapton
Crying Shame - Diesel
Die to Live - Steve Vai
A number of john mayer songs
A few Ryan Adams numbers
And anything they shout out that isn't britney

They don't have to be guitar instrumentals, you can make almost anything interesting without the vocals. They'll end up saying play something we know anyway. I'd be creative with it, learn a few popular songs they'd most likely listen to and turn them into something cool that they can recognize but is a bit of a surprise too.

Oh its got to be this one! You'll kill two birds with one stone: 'wow' them with a beautiful, touching tune and introduce her to the greatest musician in the world! Failing that 'Pig' is a close runner up!

Hey man!!!

guitar has never been a tool to impress nobody!!!
you can´t plan it!!
if you want to impress you better become an actor or a clown (with all due respect )
dont "use" the guitar!!!
